Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I we review Movies, Create Podcasts, and share our love of movies with you! Enjoy

Spectre

I may be a little controversial saying this but Daniel Craig is my favorite James Bond. He kicks ass, swoons the ladies, and drives that Aston Martin with reckless abandon. The Bond movies all have a similar formula and Specter is no exception, this movie has every Bond-ism you could ask for and will have you drinking martini’s “Shaken not Stirred”.

Spectre is the newest film in the Daniel Craig series of this beloved franchise, and it delivers all the fun and action that we have come to expect from Craig’s Bond over his run. The story follows Bond as he hunts down a secret criminal organization called Spectre, which has been tied to major attacks around the world. We follow James as he uncovers the secrets of this group and chases their mysterious leader.

I felt like this was a good James Bond film but not a great one. It definitely hit all of the James Bond staples you were expecting but felt like it got in its own way when it came to a solid story and a fully explained villain. Christoph Waltz plays the leader of Spectre but feels underused when the movie is over. The action was cool and this story tied in (loosely) to the other Craig films but I feel this instillation will go down as just another in the Bond series without making anyone’s “must watch” list.

Overall this movie was good but didn’t live up to the brilliance of Skyfall or Casino Royal, but if you are a James Bond fan or looking for an action packed summer movie in the fall, Specter may just scratch that itch!

I give this movie 3 out of 5 Martinis. You should go see it at least once but repeat viewings are not required.
