My first movie blog post and what a great movie to start on! Brought to us by Marvel proper, Guardians of the Galaxy is an expansion of the Marvel universe into parts unknown. This movie brought us past the planet earth and Avengers to introduce us to a whole new set of heros, villains and worlds.
Positives: The greatest part about this movie is the dynamic relationships between the rag tag group that become the Guardians. The lovable group of outcasts. Each member of the group has funny jokes and by the end of the movie you feel just as attached to each one as if they had their own movie.
The other thing that Marvel did really well with this movie is opening up this universe for its audience and fans of the property. I same feeling as when I watched Star Wars for the first time. It was larger then life and I cant wait to see more.
Marvel also didn't take itself two seriously with this property either. It was filled with jokes and fun, much like the first avengers movie. It kept me laughing the whole movie.
Negatives: There were not many negatives for Guardians but I will say because it was so jammed with new characters it left me thinking some of the plot was a bit rushed because they were introducing so many new things. This can be forgiven because for the most part the timing was good but at points I could feel the crunch for time.
OVERALL RANKING: INSTANT CLASSIC
