The Jungle Book

What do you get when you mix a little nostalgia, amazing CGI technology, a story everyone loves, and Bill Murray playing a singing bear? The Jungle Book (In 3D)

The Jungle Book, A movie based on a cartoon from the 60’s, based on a book from the 30’s, is further proof that sometimes the best things are behind us. The Jungle book (for those who don’t know) follows a boy Mowgli who is left by his father in the Jungle and raised by wolves. He grows up only knowing the way of the Jungle and has never interacted with another human. One day the Tiger that killed his father returns to the jungle and vows to kill Mowgli as well. Together with his friend Baloo the bear, and Bagera the panther he must flee the jungle and leave his home.

This movie was great, everything I loved about the original cartoon is still here and the movie is stunning to look at. The CGI in this movie truly is a huge step forward for the industry and creates a world around the human actor that is seamless. Another strong point in the movie is the voice acting; from Bill Murray to Scarlett Johansson everyone was excellent and fit they’re re-imagined characters so much of the audience grew up loving.

The original cartoon is seriously one of my favorite films from my childhood so nostalgia won out this time around. This movie brought back all the things I loved from the original with stunning new animations and enough of a story twist to fill the time and keep me involved, I may have even sung a little bit!

My final score 5 out of 5 Mans red fire.

Captain America: Civil War
